“Heaven is my home, just passing through this place called earth” –  (Darius Suiugan)

Poate are familie…

Amin.

CITRUS HEIGHTS, Calif. – The California Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help to track down the driver responsible for a deadly hit-and-run crash.

Darius Suiugan, 20, died Thursday night when his motorcycle was hit by either a truck or SUV on Roseville Road in Citrus Heights, just south of Outlook Drive. Investigators searched the area surrounding crash scene after the driver left the scene without stopping.

Loved ones have been stopping by throughout the day Friday to add flowers and candles to a growing memorial at the crash site.

“He always had a great personality, a big character, and you always knew him in the room,” Suiugan’s friend Denis Sarcadi said. “You always knew that he was there because he always had such a great joyous spirit and a presence that would light up the room.”

Sarcadi remembers Suiugan as generous and deeply spiritual.

“He was a good Christian kid, and he always wanted to put Christ first before anything, and it was important to make somebody else’s day before his,” Sarcadi said.

“He was a really good kid. Yeah everybody loved him. He was funny,” Suiugan’s aunt Gabby Suiugan said. “Yeah, a lot of people knew him. Just a funny kid.”

She added that at a time when the family needs to focus on grieving, the unanswered question of who’s responsible only adds to their stress.

“I just hope they’re going to catch the person who did this. I really do,” Gabby Suiugan said. “That’s horrible. They just let him die in the street and … horrible.”

Surveillance video shot outside Kenneth Dano’s home on Outlook Drive may provide clues for investigators. CHP has described the suspect vehicle as a blue late 1990s or early 2000 model GMC SUV or truck with a camper shell. They’re hoping the public can help find the driver, and loved ones hope the driver will come forward on his or her own.

“Turning themselves in would be the smartest choice for everyone,” Sarcadi said.

Investigators spent much of the day examining parts left behind by the suspect vehicle with the hope of getting an updated description.
